Hiking in the remoteness of the mountains that rise in front of 13 lakes, flat bicycle trails away from the hustle and noise of streets and traffic, fishing or boat trips, it’s your choice. Or you experience all this from the air during a balloon or paragliding flight.

If you are afraid of flying, there is the Tegelbergbahn cable car that brings you up to 1720m (5640ft). If you are looking for an active challenge, you can always go on a mountain bike ride, go climbing, play tennis, golf, miniature golf or go sailing or windsurfing.

Above Lake Alpsee in a picturesque location are the fairy tale castles Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau, surely one of the cultural and artistic highlights of our area. Not to forget the traditional village life with all its Bavarian customs.

In Schwangau you will find the Royal thermal bath “Königliche Kristall-Therme” with heated outdoor pools, sauna area, Ottoman Hamam, solarium, saline spa, gymnastics lessons, etc. A “must visit” for all guests of Camping Brunnen and ideal when the weather is bad.

In winter, the King’s Nook becomes a fairy tale landscape with winter hikes, snowshoe and backcountry ski trips, cross country skiing, skiing, snowboarding, ice skating on our frozen lakes or indoors, tobogganing runs or romantic horse carriage rides. If you are in the area for the first time, why not book a ski or snowboard lesson. For your children there is a ski kindergarten.

There are countless activities for children in summer as well such as the summer tobogganing run at the Tegelberg mountain, a huge playground and a trampoline area. Right in Brunnen, about 500m (1/4mi) from the campground, there are stables with ponies and horses that children can reach without their parents.

Drehhütte

Why not enjoy a little hike to the Drehhütte traditional mountain hut. Enjoy a snack and a cold drink in summer. Or an alcoholic Jagertee and the legendary tobogganing run down into the valley on a winter night. Locals and guests alike visit this mountain hut and enjoy its special atmosphere.

Our campground offers numerous recreational activities for free, and during the main season we offer organised activities for children in our Happy Family Club.
